History

Vinyl records are time capsules that began in the 19th century and carried through the 20th century; recording moods, events and personalities though out the world. Think of the hundreds of thousands of recordings that aren't available on CD's and downloads; add that to the popularity of the album covers, inserts and posters that accompany the albums and you'll find the answer as to why vinyl records have a place in the recording market. Plus; each day that goes by more vinyl records are discarded, raising the value of those that remain.

The sound you hear on vinyl records is truly what the artists intended you to hear. It is the preferred media for the connoisseur of recordings! Because, it was recorded exactly the way the artists performed it (with or without errors); and without someone else adding their interpretation through digital electronics. This knowledge gives life and meaning to our slogan: “Because Digital Isn’t Original”. In addition, some of the most valuable recordings have errors; be it within the recording itself or the written information on the label, sleeve or album cover. Hence forth, the phrase “Find The Value Here” seems to be appropriate.

UsedRecordAlbums.com made its presence online in 1998, as UsedAlbums.com. Shortly after, to enhance our ability to remain high on the search generators, we decided to include the word “Record” within our dot com name. Thereafter, the name UsedRecordAlbums.com came to be.

Our endeavor is a mom and pop type business and we bolster our personal touch, we provide to our customers. Furthermore, we find our customers brag about the quality, service and reasonable prices we provide (see
Customer Feedback ). That’s what we work for; because we know we’re not going to get rich from selling used record albums.

Sales outside of the U.S.A. (Internationally) amount to nearly one-third of our vinyl record sales. We would have two to three times as many sales in this category, if the credit card companies protected our merchant account from charge backs. As to why international sales of vinyl records are so high; may be attributed to a larger audience still owning record players or stereo equipment, but is only speculation.

Our international customers appear to be concerned with value: e.g. they can buy three or four vinyl records for the price of one CD. Also, when considering the cost of buying a CD player or burner and having to replace an entire collection with costly pre-recorded CDs or costly equipment and time consuming efforts to convert their vinyl to CDs; adds no value to their collection. Therefore, it can be said that the compact disc digital world is predominantly made of those who have money to burn. Because, people who don't; Go Vinyl.

Old or new: from rock to pop and country to classical; our passion is music and sharing it with others.
